Oh, this wedding. Where do I start?
I went to high school with Ashley and met her & Josh as a couple for the first time at their family/engagement session. From the moment I met them, their love for each other was evident. Josh kept Ashley giggling throughout our entire session so I knew their wedding day would be full of genuine laughs, heartfelt moments, and a ton of love. I arrived on their wedding day to the most adorable rustic barn surrounded by rolling hills and beautiful auburn fall landscape. The venue was decorated so stunningly down to every last detail and the florals were incredible. All of the flowers were hand-assembled by Ashley and her sister, with help from other family members for other one-of-a-kind decor pieces. After being greeted by the family and taken to where Ashley would be getting ready, we captured special moments of mom and sister helping Ashley into her gown and the look on dad’s face when he saw her for the first time. What a special moment. We, then, hopped onto a golf cart to be taken down to where the first look would take place. This location was truly jaw-dropping. We arrived at the most marvelous orange & yellow maple tree and historic-looking barn. As Josh turned around to see Ashley walking towards him, the look on his face said it all. Wow! We took advantage of the gorgeous backdrop for pre-ceremony portraits and headed back to the barn to wait for the ceremony.
Josh and the officiant quickly took their places. The bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down the aisle. The flower-man sprinkled the aisle (and a few of the guests) with flowers and we all waited for the big moment where the bride would make her grand appearance. Little did they know, this appearance would never be forgotten.
As the DJ played ‘Fortunate Son’ by Creedence Clearwater Revival, the guests witnessed a helicopter coming their way which circled around the entire venue. The helicopter landed and out came the bride and her dad. Can you imagine a more EPIC entrance? I cannot. Well done, Ashley!
After the short and so-very-sweet ceremony, the bride and groom headed to their reception where they would mingle with all of their guests and dance the night away. The day was beautiful and pure perfection – from the beginning of the day until the very end. Ashley and Josh, I am so honored to have been chosen to capture your big day and wish you both the happiest future together. Here are a few of my favorites from Ashley + Josh’s day.
