Tiffany & Michael | A Mount Ida Wedding

Virginia bride

What a way to cap off an exceptional year! Tiffany & Michael’s wedding was my final wedding for 2022 and this day completely reinforced why I LOVE capturing weddings and why I feel called to document moments like these.

If you’ve been around a little while, you probably remember Tiffany & Michael’s stunning engagement session from a few months ago. In getting to know Tiffany & Michael throughout their session, I learned how incredibly kind and patient they both were, and also how close to their families they were. However, nothing could have prepared my heart for all of the touching moments throughout their wedding day and I just cannot wait to share a few of those with you below.

The couple chose Water’s Edge at Mount Ida Reserve as their venue and it made THE most perfect backdrop for their winter wedding. They were married by the water with their closest friends and family surrounding them on the pier and the nearby beach. Michael proposed while they were at the beach which made their waterfront vows even more special and significant. They were married by one of Tiffany’s friends and former patient (I urge you to read THAT tear-jerker of a story here). A cocktail hour and reception followed and the reception hall even had a Christmas tree. It was beautiful and their reception portraits capture the beauty of the winter season.

During my first consultation call, I always ask my couples which aspects of their day are most important to them – both, ceremoniously but also in their portraits. Tiffany and Michael expressed that they wanted their portraits to reflect them as a couple but also represent the special bonds they share with their family members. When I look back at the moments throughout their day captured in the pictures below, a few of these special memories leave me breathless – such as Tiffany’s first look with her dad and having her mom and step mom there to witness the moment. Another moment that stopped me in my tracks was Michael’s dance with his sister in honor of their mom, who was watching from Heaven. There wasn’t a dry eye in the entire reception hall and what was especially touching was the group of family members that joined them on the dance floor throughout the song for a big group hug. When I tell you SO much love was witnessed throughout the entire day, it was honestly one I’ll never forget.

I am so excited to share a few highlights of the day below and am so incredibly thankful that my path crossed that of Tiffany & Michael’s. There are just some people that leave a lasting impression on your heart and these two, and their sweet families and friends, absolutely left one on mine. Enjoy a few of my many, many favorites!
