Writing this blog post is completely surreal because this is my sister’s engagement post!!! I cannot believe she is getting MARRIED and am so honored to be the one to capture this special season for her & Tyler. Briana & Tyler got engaged during her birthday party last year and what made it even more special was that her closest friends & family were there to take part in the special moment. So much thought and heart went into the plans for this sweet proposal – major kudos, Tyler!
Briana & Tyler both grew up in Southwest Virginia, and with Tyler spending most of his day on the farm, a field setting was non-negotiable. They were overdue for a trip to visit me and my family in Richmond, Virginia so we chose the perfect weekend to explore the city and as a bonus, capture these stunning engagement portraits that you’ll see below. When we were talking through location options, I had the PERFECT field in mind so we just needed to choose a second location to highlight them as a couple. Our original plan was to venture over to the Blue Ridge Parkway a few hours away and take portraits at one of the most beautiful overlooks in Virginia. However, our plans quickly changed when the forecast suddenly called for 40 mph winds! We decided to still proceed with portraits but chose another favorite (and local treasure!!) in Richmond – Maymont. In scrolling through the images below, you’d never guess the wind was a factor but it did make this session even more memorable and magical.
