Micaela & Brandon are so very special to my heart which meant capturing their wedding day was the ultimate honor. I met Micaela a few years ago through photographing a mutual friend’s wedding and immediately, I could tell Micaela was such a kind, caring, fun, and loyal soul. Meanwhile, Brandon and I went to the same high school so I already knew how sweet he and his family were (small, close-nit town perks!).
The couple hand-picked Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart, Virginia as the place where they would solidify their union while their reception afterwards was held at The Stanley Farm in Sandy Ridge, North Carolina. After tearful and touching moments when mom & dad first saw Micaela in her dress, the couple shared a first look. They exchanged their vows together in a private room in the church. It was joyful, touching, and just so very ‘Micaela & Brandon’. I’ve always heard that rain on a wedding day signifies good luck and that your marriage will last. The forecast was 100% rain for pretty much the entire day but somehow for key moments throughout the day, the rain held out and allowed us to capture some of the most stunning wedding portraits! Whether it was luck or Micaela & Brandon’s sweet loved ones in Heaven holding off the rain for us, we were grateful and took every opportunity to embrace the day, both indoors and outdoors. This day (and every detail!) was so incredibly BEAUTIFUL from beginning to end — just see below for yourself!
Micaela & Brandon – I am so happy for you and wish you both a lifetime of happiness together. Thank you for sharing in this extra special season of life with me. Xoxo!
